It is the longest rail-cum-road ultra-large bridge with the largest span in Guangdong Province so far. The railway bridge is 1624.858m long, while the highway bridge is 1576.858m. The main bridge has been built with 3m-wide bicycle lanes on two sides. The bicycle lanes in south bank adopted common steel concrete girder with the span of 10m, T structure and approaches. The bridge-head in north bank has been built with a tower on each side. Meanwhile, there is a long circular road and a circular road connecting the ground for non-automatic vehicles. In 1987, it was rewarded the Luban Prize for Construction Project.
