Six milestone

Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge

Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge is the first triple-span steel girder flexible arch rail-cum-road bridge in China. It serves as a thoroughfare for The Beijing-Kowloon Railway and Hefei-Jiujiang Railway. It is a double-deck 2-track rail-cum-road bridge with the length of railway bridge and highway bridge as 7675m and 4460m respectively. Double-well steel cofferdam large diameter drilling foundation and 216m long triple-span continuous steel girder flexible arch structure were firstly adopted. High strength(15MnvNq with the yield strength of 420Mpa) and thick slab(with the largest thickness of 56mm) entirely-welded technology was used for the construction. Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge is the longest rail-cum-road steel girder bridge in the world. It has been rewarded Golden Prize of the National Quality Engineering Award, First Prize of National Awards for Progress in Science and Technology, The Luban Prize for Construction Project and Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize.
