It creates a precedent to use reinforced concrete box girders for large-span cable-stayed bridge in China. The main bridge is a composite structure cable-stayed bridge which is composed by double-pylon double-plane, high stress amplitude anchorage, semi-floating method, orthotropic plate, steel box girder and steel reinforced box girder. It is 3500m long and 30m wide with dual 6-lane. There are sidewalks on both sides of the main bridge. The clear height of the main span for navigation is 38m. Moreover, it is able to resist magnitude-8 earthquake.
