It is the first cross-sea rail-cum-road bridge in China, whose total length is 16.3km, including a main span of 532m. It is double-deck structure with highway in upper-deck and railway in lower-deck. It is a Level I two-track railway, whose designed speed is 200km/h. The highway is dual six-lane highway standard, whose designed speed is 100km/h.
